Venerable Bhikkhu Varasambodhi
(Bhante Varasambodhi)

Venerable Bhikkhu Varasambodhi is a native of Bangladeshi and educated at universities in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. At the age of eight he entered the Buddhist order as a monk, and mastered the Buddhism and eastern philosophies under the guidance of the Very venerable his eminence Siri Subodhi Ratana Mahathera, the Deputy supreme of the Sangha council of Bangladesh, a well known authority on Theravada Buddhism.

He has a title called "Tipitakacariya" (master of Buddhist scriptures) from Nalanda University and Ph. D. on Buddhist Philosophy from Varanasi University in India. He received his monastic diploma training from Sri Lanka. Since 1997, he has been working on Ph.D. dissertation expert at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in San Francisco.

While he was appointed as a superintendent of International Mediation Center in Buddha Gaya for three years then most of the time he practiced intensively 'vipassana' meditation under compassionate tutorship of most venerable Dr. Rastrapal Mahathera, a leading meditation master in India and abroad as well.

In 1996, Dr. Rina Sircar, Co founder of the Taungpulu Kaba Aye Monastery had invited him to come to America from Buddha Gaya IMC to serve Dhamma to westerners. Since then he has been deeply involve in different Dhamma activities in Bay area, various parts of California and throughout the state. He has the ability to communicate his knowledge of the process of insight and Buddhist teachings clearly in English and is also a skilled, patient and friendly teacher.

He wrote many articles about different aspects of Buddhism are have been published in journal, annuals, in U.S.A., India, Bangladesh.
